DYS=12 Near Romans in Britain
"Most of these haplotypes appear to originate from areas of Britain
near the Antonine Wall, Hadrian's Wall and other places of Roman fortification or settlement.
These areas include Galloway, Dumfries, Ayrshire and The Borders in Scotland, and
Cumbria, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Shropshire and Staffordshire in England.
Many of the Roman troops stationed in these areas came from Southeastern Europe
or Western Asia. They included Sarmatians, Dacians, Goths, Syrians, Mesopotamians,
Thracians and Anatolians. The Capelli study has shown that these areas also exhibit higher
than average frequencies of haplogroups E3b and J2, neither of which is native to Britain.
E3b is found most commonly in North Africa, Iberia, the Mediterranean and the Near East,
and J2 occurs most frequently in the Near East, the Mediterranean and Western Asia."
I think what this article is saying is that our DNA was carried by Romans working in Britain and that's how our ancestor came from someplace in England, whether it was Ireland or England. Who would have thought our ancestor would have been someone other than a tribal member of Britain? I'm not sure we fit the definition of haptlotype 35, but we do have the DYS#393=12, which is necessary for this and we are of R1b1b2 haplogroup.

Our DYS 393=12 Called Haplotype 35 or Armenian Modal Haplotype
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
In human genetics, Haplotype 35, also called ht35 or the Armenian Modal Haplotype, is a Y chromosome haplotype of Y-STR microsatellite variations, associated with the Haplogroup R1b. It is characterized by DYS393=12 (as opposed to the Atlantic Modal Haplotype, another R1b haplotype, which is characterized by DYS393=13). The members of this haplotype are found in high numbers in Anatolia and Armenia, with smaller numbers throughout Central Asia, the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucus Mountains, and in Jewish populations. They are also present in Britain in areas that were found to have a high concentration of Haplogroup J, suggesting they arrived together, perhaps through Roman soldiers.
I knew we were old, but this is really a revelation.

Irish Roots? Maybe
I want to remember that many people are descended from Naill of Nine Hostages which are R1b1b2a1b5b haplogroup, and other markers seems to be an old description of R1b1b2ala2f2, and then there is R1b1b2a1b5b.
I've only tested for 25 alleles so far but plan to do the 67 shortly, and will hold this information in abeyance for reference. Maybe that's our origin, too. We're R1b1b2 or M269.
Now, whoever was Naill of Nine Hostages? Why does he have so many descendants? It seems that he was a king in Ireland who kidnapped Saint Patrick. He died around 450AD. The legends are sketchy and varied about him as is his genealogy. He is an interesting character, though. You can read about him in Wikipedia.

Possible Irish Connection for Our Robinsons

We're An Old Line of R1b1b2
R1b1b2 (ht35) see http://www.familytreedna.com/public/ht35new/default.aspx?/publicwebsite.aspx%3fsection=yresults§ion=yresults
is now estimated to be 6 to 8 thousand years old as more data has been analyzed and yes has a 12 at 393 for the surviving lines.
The main European groups consisting of R1b1b2 (ht15) are probably less than 6 thousand years old although some still argue for a pre Ice Age existence.
Eastern R1b (commonly called ht35 or haplotype 35), commonly is noted by having a genetic marker DYS 393 = 12. This is us! I thought we were special!
