The results were posted sooner than expected. Our Robinsons are negative for this SNP DF23. What that means, I have no idea as far as time or place in history or what family line this is commensurate with. I checked who we match, who is like our haplogroup of R1b1a2a1a1b4 P 312+L21+U152 or in a shorter name, we are known as R-L21, and the Irish match us the most.
I have traced our family with the big help of another Robinson with our dna to a John Robinson of Mepperhall, Shefford, Bedfordshire, England born in 1611 and died in 1675. Yet my grandfather told us that our family came from Wales. Well, we could say that we are from the British Isles for sure.
Now I'd like to know what ship he came over on. We know it wasn't in 1620 on the Mayflower as Grandfather said we came on the next ship AFTER the Mayflower. There was a fleet of ships in about 1640, I think it was. Maybe it was on one of those.
12/21/11 Update: our one match with a distance of 5 just got his results of this same test and he is also the same as us with the shorthand name of R-L21.
