We're An Old Line of R1b1b2

I finally found a piece of information telling about our unusual DYS 393 being a 12 and not a 13 that I see more often. I've just been learning that these numbers given for alleles have meaning. I had thought it meant where we came from; east, west, etc, but evidently it also has to do with age.

R1b1b2 (ht35) see http://www.familytreedna.com/public/ht35new/default.aspx?/publicwebsite.aspx%3fsection=yresults&section=yresults
is now estimated to be 6 to 8 thousand years old as more data has been analyzed and yes has a 12 at 393 for the surviving lines.
The main European groups consisting of R1b1b2 (ht15) are probably less than 6 thousand years old although some still argue for a pre Ice Age existence.

Eastern R1b (commonly called ht35 or haplotype 35), commonly is noted by having a genetic marker DYS 393 = 12. This is us! I thought we were special!
